Is There A Found Season 2 Trailer?

Yes! NBC released an incredibly suspenseful Found Season 2 teaser trailer — located at the top of this page — which shows Sir roaming free, threatening, and stalking the team. Oh, and he took Lacey! “I warned you not to end us,” he tells Gabi.

Found Season 1 Ending Explained: What Will Found Season 2 Be About?

If you’ve seen Found Season 1, Episode 13, “Missing While Forgotten,” you know that the season ended on a major cliffhanger: Sir not only escaped from Gabi’s basement, but he’s hiding in Lacey’s house plotting his next move. Season 2 of the NBC drama will pick up where Season 1 left off and follow Gabi as she deals with the troubling reality that Sir is a very real threat who’s back out in the world.

In addition Hampton and Gosselaar, Found cast members include Arlen Escarpeta as Zeke Wallace, Gabrielle Walsh as Lacey Quinn, Kelli Williams as Margaret Reed, Brett Dalton as Mark Trent, and Karan Oberoi as Dhan Rana. From the looks of the minute-long preview, Gabi and her team spend Found Season 2 trying to outsmart Sir to ensure Lacey’s safe return, but they’ll continue to search for other forgotten missing people along the way. Plus, Gabi will have to repair relationships with those closest to her after she shared her big secret at the end of Season 1. Here’s what Found‘s showrunner and stars have to say about Season 2.

What Found Season 2 Has In Store For Sir: Mark-Paul Gosselaar Weighs In

“Sir’s endgame is Gabi, period, in whatever way that looks like given the obstacles he’s presented with, in whatever way it turns out given how much the M & A team and Trent and everyone else is sort of fighting to keep her out of his clutches,” Nkechi Okoro Carroll said. “His endgame has been singular since the day she walked into his high school classroom.”

“It is singular for me,” Gosselaar added. “My intent is just to have the connection that I have with Gabrielle. That’s basically it. Any sort of connection that I can have with Gabrielle is good enough for Sir, whether that’s in the basement, out in the open, but just to have something that keeps us together, in any capacity.”

Those on the panel also promised creative interactions between Sir and Gabrielle, since Season 1 built much of their relationship face-to-face. However, Carroll reminded fans that Gabi isn’t the only character with whom Sir will interact. “…It has been so much fun in the writers’ room because Sir isn’t just interacting with Gabi anymore.  He’s out in the world, which means he interacts with other people in the world, and it’s been so much fun to see that side of the character when it’s not anchored by this is the person that is my life companion.”

Though Season 2 will undoubtedly look different now that Sir is out of the basement, Gosselaar said “everything that we built up in the first season, there is going to be a payoff.”

“…A lot of the times I feel like shows find themselves in a position where it’s hard to maintain, but I feel like we’ve maintained and excelled from where we were last season,” he continued.  “It just opens up so much more of the story for the characters as well…”

Keeping Found‘s Case Of The Week Structure

Alongside the hunt for Sir, Nkechi Okoro Carroll assured TCA members that Gabi and the team will continue the case of the week aspect of the show in Season 2. “We’re still going to have that engine of sort of completing — reaching a point of completion with our cases every week, but its got a significant serialized portion,” she said. “I mean, Sir’s out on the loose wrecking havoc. Mark-Paul is having way too much fun doing that so that will definitely maintain as part of the show, but we still have our case of the week. We will still have that satisfying puzzle that we want the audience to join us in solving every week. Gabi is going to struggle to be able to achieve both things… The heart of the show, the heart of the cases they’re solving still continue to deal with the fact that there is a disproportionate amount of people in this world who are considered disposable and therefore are not highlighted when they go missing. It’s our show’s job to bring attention to that, and we continue to do that.”

When asked about particular cases in Season 2 with real-life connections, Carroll said, “We deal with the mortality rate of Black mothers. We deal with neuro-diverse kids, something that’s very personal to me. We deal with how grief especially in the Black community can be misconstrued. And all of it is pulled from personal experiences, whether it’s from our writers, our crew. Unfortunately, everyone’s finger has touched something. So everyone is bringing some kind of personal experience to it.”

Gabi And The Team Are Going Through It In Season 2

From the team getting emotional and leaving Gabi in the office to Lacey ignoring her call, Found‘s Season 1 finale showed a bit of the response to Gabi’s but secret. Rest assured that in Season 2, trust isn’t magically earned back.

“…As you saw at the end of Season 1, Gabi’s secret is out the bag. The team knows. And so how do you solve cases the way they do where their superpower comes from their connectedness? It comes from their collective ability to turn their trauma into positivity. It comes from the fact that they’re a family. How do you keep doing that when a fundamental trust has been broken?” Carrol said.

“It’s been a different journey for me as an actor to play, because Gabi is always in control and people are looking up to her,” Hampton added. “In this season, for the majority of this first chapter, everyone’s really pissed at her and disappointed and sad.”

Kelli Williams Is Directing In Season 2

Another exciting Found Season 2 development? Kelli Williams, who plays Margaret Reed, will be in front of and behind the camera, as she’s set to direct in Season 2.

“I’ve only acted in one other show as a director at the same time. I was primarily directing just full-time and not acting, so I’m back to that challenge of sort of splitting my brain,” Williams said during the TCA panel. “It’ll be interesting to see [how my castmates] respond to me, because it’s a strange feeling to be in a scene, but also watching, but also not watching in that sort of more giving notes way…I think it’s going to be fun because our group, we get along so well, and I think that everyone is excited and supportive. And, of course, I’m going to mess with them a little bit, right?”

While we await more updates on Found Season 2, Found Season 1 is streaming on Peacock for any and all rewatch needs.
