The Boys are back — well, kind of.
Deadline reports that Prime Video has ordered a new prequel series titled Vought Rising, which will be led onscreen by Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy) and Aya Cash (Stormfront). Both actors will also serve as producers.
Per a Prime Video press release, the reveal was made at a San Diego Comic Con panel on Friday, with an in-person appearance from Ackles and a video cameo from Cash. Eric Kripke and Paul Grellong noted that they “are excited to bring [them] the next deranged series from the world of The Boys.”
“It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought,” they explained. “We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.”
Kripke will executive produce alongside Grellong, who is also showrunner.
This news arrives in the wake of the flagship series’ Season 4 finale, and word from Kripke that Season 5 of The Boys will be its last. As noted in Prime Video’s press release, Vought International marks yet another spin-off of The Boys, following Gen V and The Boys Presents: Diabolical.

With respect to Ackles, Justin Hartley recently confirmed that the Supernatural star will be back in Tracker Season 2, teasing the following at the Television Critics Association’s Summer 2024 press tour:
“We got him. He’s coming back. So we’re having fun with that. It’s gonna be great. It’s a great story, too. As far as how many [episodes], I don’t know.”
